Pecha Kucha Reflection

My topic of interest for my pecha kucha presentation was artist Frida Kahlo , specifically her impact on todays world of design. I chose this topic because Frida is a major influence of mine within my art and design works. I have loved her for years and felt I knew the topic well enough to present in this style. However, because I am familiar with Frida and what I presented, I regret not choosing a subject in which i wanted to learn more about. I definitely chose the easiest route , I think I did this because I was very nervous about presenting this almost 7 minute long presentation.

I should have practiced reading my content more throughout the writing process. When I was practicing for the last few times I ended up having to cull quite a bit of content , I even had to do this on the spot when I was presenting as I was reading over the 20 second time limit for each slide. I feel like if I had been more aware of this issue earlier on I could have written a better verbal presentation.

After seeing my classmates slides, I wish I had put more effort into curating relevant images that visually described my ideas. I did try to make them slightly visually exciting, however i was unsure of how much was too much to put on each slide.

Overall, I still did enjoy presenting my topic of Frida Kahlo because she is an artist in which I hold closely to my heart. However there were many things about my presentation which could have been enhanced to create a more exciting and informative piece.
